  For me, Kubo was a fat, surprising No No. It’s really sad. Kubo’s mother dies, then she and his father die again after they’ve taken their animal forms. Kubo is all alone with nobody to take care of him, except for his not so helpful Grandpa! All this made me sad and bored at the end, instead of happy that I saw the movie.
