Warning! This review contains spoilers. Don't feel like explaining the plot right now. What I thought of it: Well, I was honestly expecting this to be better. I didn't really like the way Hiccup looked. And Astrid looked like different too . But I didn't like her, so that didn't really bother me. While we're on the topic of Astrid, the reason I didn't like her was because she wasn't interesting, and she didn't add much to the plot. In other words, she's just your average female lead. Let me just say, although it might seem like I hate all female love interests, I don't. It's just that a lot of them are exactly the same, so therefore, I don't if I don't like one, if another one has the exact same personality, then I won't like her either. Now, if the people who write these movies were actually creative with their characters, instead of them all making the same character and changing their name and (possibly) appearance, then maybe I'd start liking some of the female leads. But unfortunately, I don't see that happening anytime soon. Regarding the movie itself, I thought it was really stupid that Hiccups dad died, but his mom ending up being alive. There were a lot of others things I didn't like also. Overall, this movie was disappointing, and the first one was better.

Hem. You know me, I'm always looking on the positive side, so.. I have to admit, I like Hiccup.. and Astrid mildly as well.. oh, who am I kidding, I like Astrid :D I can see why you don't like her, because she is a Mary Sue in the way that she's almost perfect.. except the fact that she always has to be rescued by Hiccup.. but I don't know, I always strive to be smart strategy-wise, and to be athletic (one of the goals that I have NEVER achieved) so I always wanted to have similar skills as her.. And I also ship her and Hiccup... Don't stare at me like that lol! And seriously, SPOILER, Hiccup's dad doesn't die in the books, and I think it's stupid too that he just met his wife that he hadn't seen for over a DECADE and then he just gets killed because of Toothless. I cried so much, but I realized it just didn't make sense - why would DreamWorks kill him off if not to create drama and something to talk about (and to attract larger crowds to the movie theater to see if the rumours about Stoick are true) Again about female characters, I don't like how they are in "molds" these days.. (I am going to take Disney characters for example, and Astrid)... the athletic, super perfect type that for some reason has to be rescued by male character while flung through air, (Astrid), love interest, (ALMOST ALL OF THEM), and not a lot of other molds.. oh yeah, Damsel in Distress (Bella Swan, was it? That "heroine" (not even) from Twilight?) And, um, most of the good heroines come from books, tbh..
