- Amazing movie! I think that older kids would like it better than younger. It is not as fantastical (it still has a heap of fantasy just closer to the actual thing weather than the Disney version.

- "Tale as old as time..." I loved this movie. Beauty and the Beast is a wonderful movie but this twist on the old classic was much needed and made this movie even more magical. Belle is an old girl. She isn't like the other girls in her little town in France. She is headstrong and is able to speak her mind when dealing with Gaston, a self-centered man who is in love with Belle. And she is courageous. But her courage is put to the test when her father is put in prison by the beast, a man cursed because of his selfishness, after her father accidentally intrudes on the beast's property. Belle finds her father and is left with a choose: Leave her father in the prison or take his place. Belle makes a courageous decision and takes her father's place. Belle, at first, finds the beast to be mean. But she gives it time and realizes that the beast is actually a nice person. Then the beast tells her about the curse. It goes like this: there is a rose. When all the petals of the rose fall, someone should have told the beast that she loves him. Belle realizes that she is in love with him, but she pushes those thoughts away. Meanwhile, Belle's father comes back to the town and tells everyone about the beast. The people and Gaston think he is crazy and plan to take him to an asylum (a shelter for people who are mentally ill.) Belle, obviously, does not know this because she is at the beast's palace. But the beast has a mirror that will show you what is happening to other people even though she is not there. She sees her father being put into a carriage to be taken to an asylum. She, after the beast gives her permission, goes to save her father. but she ends up in the carriage too. With intelligence, she picks the lock and frees her father and her. But there is not a happily ever after yet. Gaston decides to kill the beast and take the whole town with him. "He come stalking us at night!" the people think. Belle tries to tell the beast ahead of time before Gaston gets there, but it is too late. Or is it? Just before the beast is about to die, Belle says, "I love you." Just like that, the curse is reversed, and the beast turns back into a handsome prince. The movie concludes with Belle's and the Beast's wedding. I loved this movie because it was creative, and the music was great. With still keeping with the overall theme of the classic Beauty and the Beast, it adds new music like the song "Evermore" and adds to the original songs like "Gaston." Overall, this movie was fun, interesting, beautiful, heartwarming, and a great movie for a family night. Happy watching!
